on the first and third Saturdays of most months.

April 20

Sharing session followed by a presentation on the surgical management of prostate cancer, including side effects and management of postoperative side effects (erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence), by Dr. Ghasem Imani, Urologist, Presbyterian Rust Medical Center. 

Bio: Dr. Ghasem Imani is a urologist currently working at Presbyterian Hospital. His main location in clinic is at Rust Presbyterian Hospital. He completed his  urology residency training at University of California, Irvine and completed a chief at the University of New Mexico.  

May 4

Sharing session followed by a presentation on Coping with the Grief of a Cancer Diagnosis, by Dr. Anjanette Cureton, PsyD, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center

Dr. Cureton will be speaking on the range of emotions experienced, but not always expressed, while going through cancer. She will discuss ways to express these emotions effectively and teach simple tools for managing anxiety and depression.

Anjanette Cureton, PsyD is the Clinical Psychologist at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. As part of the interdisciplinary patient and family support services team, Dr. Cureton provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and family members who have been impacted by cancer. She co-facilitates several support groups at the Cancer Center in collaboration with Cancer Support Now. Dr. Cureton is a brain cancer survivor.
